Schneider Electric consolidates its position in building further global automation
Schneider electric further consolidate its global position in building automation market
France in May 24th -- El and maisong pursue its strategy target selective acquisition of Schneider electric today announced the acquisition of Weiss building system after the necessary approval (IBS) operations in North America and asia.
The acquisition was followed by Schneider electric in July 2005 to complete the acquisition of the British high-end building systems (ABS EMEA) company, and will greatly complement the building automation platform of Electric Co., Ltd., Schneider. By March 31, 2006, IBS's fiscal year revenue of $142 million, profit of $20 million. The company is a leading provider of building automation products and services in North America and has an important place in asia. IBS has a history of more than 100 years in the industry, and enjoys a high reputation, such as Barber-Colman and Com-Trol and other famous brands.
The market of building automation and control system is of great significance to the development potential of Schneider electric. Schneider's acquisition of TAC in June 2003 made it a major player in the market. Since then, the merger of TAC and Andover Controls acquired in July 2004, and the acquisition of ABS EMEA in July 2005, further strengthened Schneider's market position in Europe and the United states. The acquisition of IBS will bring revenue and cost synergy, sales channels and excellent management team. IBS will greatly expand the TAC installation base, enhance its sales capabilities in North America and Asia, so that Schneider electric building automation platform to reach a new height.
The acquisition of IBS is in line with the development strategy developed by Schneider electric in the past 3 years. Schneider Tricoire, chief executive officer of Jean-Pascal, commented: "IBS North America and Asia are logically and naturally aligned with our building automation platform. TAC and IBS teams will work together to enhance their global operations, and bring more benefits to their customers."
Wait for approval after all Schneider Electric will pay $296 million in cash for the acquisition of IBS business, IBS free cash, Schneider electric liability IBS debt, and 338 (H) (10) the current preferential tax concessions, net worth $60 million. Schneider electric expects to achieve its return on capital use within three years of the acquisition.
